Dear GAP Families,

After the board meeting on 8-18-2020 the GAP program will be starting in the orange zone. We have developed a plan to keep our students as safe as possible below is the plan for orange.

Linked below are the sign-up sheets for Wednesdays. Please note, students must utilize GAP on at least one other session, and the Wednesday sessions are limited to 50 students per site. This is a first come - first serve program. Parents will be notified if they have a Wednesday spot or are on the waiting list.  Make sure you choose the correct sign up form for your child's school.

As the situation changes we may change color zones for your information the link below has the GAP plan for all zones. Link for the full GAP reopening plan.
General Information: GAP Reopening
In response to  COVID 19 the GAP program has developed this plan to ensure the safety of the children, staff, families and community. Our utmost concern is to provide a safe and caring environment for the children that require our care. This plan has been developed based upon guidance documents provided by Panhandle Health and will follow the procedures outlined in the PFSD Reopening Plan.
Like the District’s plan, GAP’s reopening plan also includes a Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red system which outlines what students, staff, and parents can expect under the different conditions. GAP will operate in the same color category as the district though we have developed additional guidance as GAP is a childcare program and requires different procedures.

This situation is ongoing and evolving. We will communicate updates as they come to light as quickly as possible.
General guidance for all levels of operations (green, yellow, orange or red):
  • Parents monitor their students’ health, ensuring students stay home if they are sick or showing symptoms.
  • Enhanced cleaning of surfaces will be implemented at all GAP sites.
  • Students will be taught proper hand washing and hand sanitizing routines.  Hand washing will be implemented throughout the child’s time at GAP.  Hand sanitizer will be readily available at each site.
  • Scheduled table and materials sanitation will take place during the GAP program at appropriate transitions.
  • Social distancing will be taught and encouraged as much as possible.  When social distancing is not possible, masks and/or face shields are recommended for students based on Panhandle Health District guidance.
  • Meals will be served within the school in accordance with the policy the school has developed for spacing.
GAP Orange Plan:
Level of Operations: PFSD schools will shift to an alternate day hybrid schedule where learning will be part time in school and part-time at home.

  • As outlined in the PFSD Reopening Plan 2020-2021, children may only attend GAP according to their alternate day hybrid schedule. This schedule is designed in an effort to reduce the number of students in the program in order to allow for social distancing and no co-mingling of cohorts.

    • Example: If a student is in school on Monday and Thursday they can only attend GAP on those days.
    • According to the hybrid schedule, on Wednesdays children will not be in school, but GAP will have 50 childcare slots  available at two sites. These are available on a first come - first served basis.
      • For children enrolled at West Ridge, Seltice and Mullan Trail: Wednesday GAP will be available at West Ridge Elementary.
      • For children enrolled at Greensferry, Prairie View, Ponderosa and Treaty Rock:  Wednesday GAP will be available at Treaty Rock.
  • Enhanced cleaning and social distancing will be implemented.
  • GAP will coordinate with other local agencies such as Panhandle Health and other state authorities overseeing childcare facilities.
  • Face shields and/or masks as per Panhandle Health, state, local or other governmental agency mandates.
