Negotiations Meeting 5/28/20

A negotiations meeting between the Post Falls Education Association and the Post Falls School District will take place this Thursday, May 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the Post Falls High School Library.

School Closure Update 5/6/20

The Post Falls Board of Trustees acted during a special meeting this afternoon to extend the “soft” closure to the end of the regular 2019-2020 school year.  This action was based on the Idaho State Board of Education revised criteria for schools to reopen.  Unfortunately, Kootenai County schools are not eligible to reopen this year because our county has “community spread” of Covid 19.  The following link will take you to the State Board press release regarding criteria to open schools. https://boardofed.idaho.gov/resources/board-approves-revised-re-entry-criteria-for-public-schools/

As a result, the district will continue the remote education program.  We ask students continue to make progress each week with their remote academic work in preparation for a successful transition to the next grade level.  We will be developing plans to provide opportunities for students to pick up any personal belongings and to return any textbooks or chromebooks in their possession during the last week(s) of school.  More information will be provided toward the end of May.

Thank you again for your continued support and patience as we navigate these difficult times.  We look forward to working with your students at school next fall.

Kindergarten Pre-Registration 2020-21 begins April 28th

All kindergarten students will return to their home schools in the fall of 2020. Click here to view the updated attendance zone maps.

Beginning April 28, 2020, parents will have two options to pre-register their incoming kindergarten student. It’s important to pre-register your incoming kindergarten student, so students are included in our preliminary enrollment numbers.  These two pre-registration options will be available until June 12.

Option 1:  Complete the online pre-registration form. (LINK)

Option 2:  Phone pre-registration (Beginning April 28, parents can call the child’s school to pre-register. (Treaty Rock parents should call Frederick Post at 208-777-0479.)   If you reach the answering machine, please leave a message including your phone number, so office staff can return your call and pre-register your student over the phone.)

New Elementary School: projected timeline

We are excited to move forward with the construction of our new elementary school and our remodel/enhancement projects.  As you recall, the new school is scheduled to be open for students in the fall of 2020, and the remodel projects will take place over a minimum of three summers.  There will be a limited number of remodel projects this summer because of the short timeline to design and bid the enhancements.  The majority of the remodel projects will take place during the summer of 2020 and 2021.
