We would like to congratulate Ashley DeWit's noteworthy academic  achievement. Ashley is being offered a college-sponsored Merit Scholarship  while attending Washington State University next year. This scholarship is  awarded by the National Merit Program. The 2015 PSAT/NMSQT served as  an initial screener of more than 1.6 million participants to the 2017 National  Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of  the 50 states and represent less than one percent of each state’s high  school seniors, typically scoring in the top 98-99th percentile on the exam.  From these 1.6 million students, approximately 16,000 semifinalists are  notified.  Semifinalists must then complete the National Merit Scholarship  Application and meet other National Merit guidelines. Through this process  only about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships are awarded. We are  extremely proud of Ashley’s accomplishments and we wish her the best of  luck next year as she attends Washington State University in the Honors  College.
