First Day of School September 5, 2017


All new students should bring copies of their birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency (utility bill, rental agreement, etc.) when they register.

Kindergarten and elementary students may register at the appropriate school office beginning Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1 and need to accompany their parents to registration.

Elementary Student Supplies: Complete school supply lists are included in each school’s link at School supply lists are also available at the District Administrative Office, 206 W. Mullan Avenue, and at each school beginning August 16, 2017.


New students may register beginning Monday, August 21, 2017, from 8:00am to 2:00pm at the school office.

Returning students and 6th grade students coming from within the district:  Schedules will be mailed with a back to school letter.  Locker assignments will be located on the schedule.

Please be sure to bring your schedule with you to Open House to avoid waiting in line. 

Open House / Sixth Grade Orientation – Wednesday, August 30th:

  • 5:15-5:30: additional sixth grade schedules available for pick-up/locker practice

*Please feel free to use this time to help your child find his or her locker and have them practice the combination, which is located at the top right hand corner of their schedule.

  • 5:30: 6th grade orientation in the gym
  • 5:40-5:50: additional 7th and 8th grade schedules available for pick-up
  • 6:00: All students/parents in grades 6-8 report to 1st period class.  Families will travel through the daily schedule in seven minute increments to meet the teachers and hear about classes.

Please note: The counselors will not be available for schedule changes during Open House.

Student Activity Stickers (ASB Stickers):  Stickers may be purchased for $10.00.  The sticker allows students to attend interscholastic home events for free during the year.  All students in extra-curricular activities will be required to purchase a sticker. 

Sports Physicals:  In order to participate in sports you must have proof of a physical during middle school years.

Sports Fees:  There is a $15.00 fee for each extra-curricular activity.  Please wait to make sure that you have made the team before paying this fee. 

Yearbooks:  Students may order the 2017-2018 Yearbook for $30.00.  You will be guaranteed a yearbook if paid for by December 1st

  • 6th Grade students are pre-enrolled from their previous Post Falls Elementary School and will not need to pre –enroll again.

7th & 8th Grade schedules will be mailed home August 21.
Counselors will be available August 24 – September 1 from 12:00-2:00 for scheduling questions.
6th Grade Orientation will be August 30, 5:30-6:30

  • Receive your schedules and meet your teachers.

Picture Day – September 14.

  • $15.00:  Shop, Lifetime Sports, & Pottery

Beginning Wednesday, August 16, please call the counseling office at 773-5411 to set up an appointment to register your new student. Appointments will be scheduled for the weeks of August 21st thru September 1st. The following information is required to register:

  • Proof of Residency (rental agreement, utility bill, etc.)
  • Immunizations (shot record)
  • Legal Birth Certificate
  • Transcript
  • Print registration form at
  • IEP or 504 if applicable

Student registration will be held on August 22nd and 23rd.  Parents will be updating contact information and paying fees.  Students will have their school picture taken by Dorian and will receive their ID card and schedule.  There will be no schedule changes before school starts.

New upper-class students (grades 10-12) are invited to a New Student Orientation Wednesday, August 30th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. to be held in the PFHS Commons.

Freshman Link (orientation): Thursday, August 31st, 7:55 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Lunch can be purchased for $3.75. Contact PFHS for more information. (Free and Reduced Lunch not honored that day.)

Fall Athletic registration is to be completed on-line at  Fall sport participants must have a completed registration for their fall sport by August 7, 2017.  Current physicals must be on file with the activities office.  Physicals must be signed and dated by the physician.  Freshman and juniors cannot have a physical dated before May 1, 2017.

The surcharge fee $75.00 and ASB $40.00 may be paid during the online registration process or at school.

Tuesday, August 1st through Friday, August 4th, 2017 the activities office will be open to receive physicals and assist with the on-line registration.  Hours:  8:00am to 2:00pm each day at PFHS Main Office.

Athletes must have a completed registration prior to 1st practice.

                                  Building Construction: $15.00 per semester

ACTIVITY FEE-ASB:  Student activity stickers are $40.00.  This is a great savings to students as the sticker will allow a student to attend about 50 home events during the year.  ALL STUDENTS IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A STICKER.

ACTIVITY SURCHARGE: Is a one-time fee per school year of $75.00. This fee will be assessed to each student participating in a sport or activity. This allows students to participate in any activity during the school year. Activity surcharge helps offset the cost of travel, equipment and officiating. Activities included in this fee are all Sport Teams, Quiz Bowl, CheerleadingDance Team, Competition Drama, Choir, and Band.

Yearbooks may be purchased for $55.00, including the student’s name on cover, until January 12th. NO YEARBOOKS WILL BE SOLD AT SCHOOL AFTER January 12th. Senior photos for the yearbook are due by September 29th. PRACTICE SAT TEST (PSAT):  $20.00 for Juniors

For families who find the late start Monday schedule to be a hardship, the Post Falls School District will offer free child care for those 25 minutes. 


Parents:  Please be aware that Post Falls School District DOES NOT provide insurance to pay for medical or dental expenses when students are injured at school.  Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for students. Even with the greatest precautions and the closest supervision, accidents can and do occur. Parents need to be prepared for possible medical expenses should their child be injured at school.

Student insurance with multiple options is available with a one-time payment for the entire school year.  Secretaries at each school have student insurance enrollment forms. The State of Idaho medical insurance program, Idaho Care Line, may provide free medical coverage if you meet the eligibility requirements. Call 211 or get more information at


Idaho State Law requires that all students K-12 be fully immunized prior to enrollment in school.  If your child is not fully immunized, immunization can be received through the Panhandle Health District, Heritage Health, or your child’s physician.

  • Students born on or before 9/1/99 must have 4 DTaP, 1 Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), 3 Polio and 3 Hepatitis B.
  • Students born between 9/1/99-9/1/2005 must have 5 DTaP, 2 Measles/Mumps/ Rubella (MMR), 3 Polio and 3 Hepatitis B.
  • Students born after 9/1/2005 must have 5 DTaP, 2 Measles/Mumps/ Rubella (MMR), 4 Polio, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Varicella (Chickenpox) and 2 Hepatitis A.
  • 7th grade students must have 1 TDaP booster and 1 Meningococcal.


If your child has a potentially life-threatening or chronic health condition, please contact School Nursing Services at 773-6976.  The school nursing staff will work with you to develop a safe plan of care for your child while at school.


In accordance with State Department of Education regulations, Post Falls School District provides busing for eligible public school students living within the District. 

  • Busing is provided to and from one address only for students in grades 1-12 who live more than 1.5 miles from their designated school.
  • Busing is provided to and from school for kindergarten students attending the 2 ½ day alternate schedule.
  • Kindergarten students attending the morning half-day schedule will be provided busing to school only.  Those on the afternoon schedule will be provided busing from school only.
  • Please take into consideration that, in collaboration with parents/guardians, bus safety rules and guidelines are to be followed by students for their safety. 
  • Please remember that any changes in student transportation, i.e., students riding with other students, different bus, or a different stop must have prior parent/guardian approval from the Transportation Office and is intended for emergency purposes only.

For more information regarding student transportation, routes and bus numbers, contact the Transportation Department at 773-4217.  The transportation office is open from 7:00am to 3:00pm during the summer months to address questions prior to the start of school.  Bus information will not be available at the school offices.


School buses will pick students up from their designated bus stops 25 minutes later on Monday mornings to accommodate the late start schedule. The buses will pick students up at their regular bus times on Tuesday through Friday.  Questions?  Please call the Transportation Department at 773-4217.


A variety of breakfast and lunch items are available through the Child Nutrition Program.  Students may take all menu items or may refuse one or two items offered each day, with the price remaining the same.  Those students with allergies to milk, milk products or other foods should have a signed statement from a physician on file in the building kitchen. A monthly calendar of menus will be sent home with each elementary student.

It is important to note that payments may still be made by cash or check at the school kitchens or by mail for no additional fee.


The district’s GAP program provides public school families of the Post Falls School District with a well-rounded and safe environment in which children can engage in a wide-range of educational, fun activities.  The GAP program complements the school academic program by helping students complete their regular day’s schoolwork as well as providing healthy snacks in the afternoon. The winter months encompass a variety of conditions.  Please be aware of cold, wind and ice, and dress your child accordingly. School may close for the day when weather creates hazardous road conditions.  School closures are announced between 5:45am and 8:00am on the following radio stations: KVNI, KCDA, KISS, KXLY, KDRK and on television stations KREM-2, KXLY-4 and KHQ-6.  School closures will be posted on the district website under the Emergencies link.  The district will also utilize the SchoolMessenger notification system for parents with texting capabilities on their cell phones who have opted in to the SchoolMessenger system.


The Post Falls School District values its volunteers and welcomes guests.  For the safety and well-being of students, all volunteers and guests must check into the main office of each school to sign in and be issued a guest I.D.
